ProWine ASIA 2016 Post Show Review
ProWine ASIA 2016, the newest addition to the ProWein World series of international trade fairs for wines and spirits, concluded on a high note in Singapore.
8,456 attendees from 54 countries, including trade visitors, exhibiting staff, masterclass and seminar speakers and delegates, filled the show floor at the 4-day trade event held from 12 – 15 April 2016 at Singapore Expo, Hall 10. Business discussions and valuable connections were made between attendees, and buyers were able to source from a wide array of wines & spirits offered by international exhibitors for the flourishing Southeast Asian market.
International Showcase of Wines and Spirits
258 established wine producers and distributors from 30 countries participated in the inaugural ProWine ASIA 2016 and showcased their latest and best-selling varietals and labels. This includes a strong line-up of 15 group pavilions from 11 countries, namely Australia, Austria, Canada, Chile, France, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa and Spain.
“I believe that Singapore is a strong hub for wines and spirits in this region and a great market to launch our products in, as a starting point to increasingly bring them to more countries here. At ProWine ASIA, we were able to showcase our products for the first time to many potential Asian distributors and buyers. We will most definitely take part again if we can, at the next ProWine ASIA trade show!”

Grand Pré Wines Limited
“At the 4-day trade fair, we had more than 100 companies who expressed interest in our wines and 35 companies were extremely good leads with great business potential. We are already closing deals with clients from Australia and Hong Kong. In the next 6 months, we expect to have 5 – 7 newly appointed distributors. We also appreciated the unexpected visits from our customers in Japan and Taiwan. The quality and genuine interest of the visitors were remarkable. Thanks so much for the success at ProWine ASIA 2016!”
Real Cave do Cedro
“I want to bring my special Rosolo wines made from dried grapes to the world, and Singapore was an essential stop for me as it is the gateway to Southeast Asia. Now is an opportune moment for me to target Singapore and the surrounding countries in this region.”
Rewarding Experience for Visitors
Trade visitors from Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and many other countries had a fulfilling time at ProWine ASIA 2016. Besides getting to meet new potential suppliers, they also had the chance to taste a wide range of wines and spirits, as well as exchanged notes with fellow wine enthusiasts on the latest drinking trends.
“This is my first visit. Though the show is not as big as compared to the shows that I’ve visited in Europe, I managed to find new suppliers from Australia (in the Margaret River area) which I was not able to find in other shows. I will definitely be bringing a bigger team the next time as we are also into spirits and other beverages.”

First-in-Asia Champagne Lounge
The first-ever Champagne Lounge in Asia was highly well-received and attracted many trade buyers with its exclusive and inviting ambience. Visitors were treated to an array of more than 25 different types of champagne – many of which were unique ‘first-in-Asia’ labels, by renowned champagne producers. In addition, oenologists were also present to provide professional advice on selecting and appreciating champagnes.
“The Champagne Lounge is an interesting concept. Being in-charge of making recommendations to my purchasing department on the wines to stock for our private club members, the Lounge allowed me to discover and taste the various types of champagne all at one place. The unique champagne liqueur and a few quality Rosé champagnes that I got to sample are some of my picks.”
